The responsibilities for planning and activities of research are shouldered by Directorate of Research Services.

The Directorate of Extension Services (DES) at Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV), Jabalpur, is the key coordinating body that links agricultural research and education with farmers’ fields across Madhya Pradesh. Established with the vision of disseminating improved agricultural technologies, the Directorate acts as a bridge between scientists and farming communities to enhance productivity, profitability, and sustainability in agriculture.

The responsibilities for human-resource management are shouldered by Directorate of Instruction.

The Directorate of Farms, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya (JNKVV), Jabalpur is entrusted with a vital responsibility of Breeder Seed Production (BSP) under the National Seed Production Program (QSP). JNKVVV has 1886.25 ha total land and 1252.48 ha cultivated land for research and seed production. Out of the around 845.08 ha of land is use for seed production, mainly at the following research stations: (i) College of Agriculture, Jabalpur (ii) College of Agriculture, Rewa (iii) College of Agriculture, Powarkheda (iii) College of Agriculture, Tikamgarh, College of Agriculture, Balaghat a JNKVV received prestigious award Choudhary Devilal Outstanding, All India Coordinated Research Project Award 2021 (Best Center) for the highest contribution toward quality seeds production in the country. This award includes a citation and a cash price.

The Instrument Development & service Centre, at the JNKVV Jabalpur is established in the year 1966. Instrumentation systems, consisting of precision modules mostly of electronic and electrical nature, have become an integral part of research in agricultural sciences. Work involved in the research projects has enormously increased and as such the conventional non – instrumental methods are inadequate to cope up with the work. New techniques are being adopted which necessitate application of sophisticated instrumentation systems facilitating instantaneous measurements of parameters at multi-points, remote indication, and automatic built- in protections, etc.

The precision instruments, already in use, need constant servicing and checking for their calibration if they are to serve reliably in research projects. In the absence of proper servicing and maintenance facilities, a large no of broken instruments goes on accumulating as new instruments are purchased as replacement. The service and maintenance thus form important aspect of instrumentation. The services of the Centre are availed by all departments of Vishwa Vidyalaya including its outlying campii. Some departments of the State Government are also utilizing services of the centre. Amongst others, the centre has rendered valuable services to the Soil-Testing Laboratories of the State Government by providing maintenance services.
