The Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry came into existence in the year 1967. Master degree program was started in the year 1962 at Jabalpur. The Doctorate degree program was started in the year 1971 at Jabalpur. Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition, Soil Physics and Soil Microbiology are the prime areas of specialization in the Department.
