Department of Plant Pathology, Jabalpur came into existence with the establishment of the University in October 1964. M.Sc. (Ag) in Plant Pathology was started at Jabalpur in the year of 1960-61.  Doctorate degree program was started in the year 1979-80 at Jabalpur. Total intake capacity is 20 and 04 in M.Sc and Ph.D degree programmes, respectively.  The Department has built up expertise in different areas of Plant Pathology namely fungal taxonomy, Cereal Pathology, Pulse Pathology, Millet Pathology, Seed Pathology, Nematology, Chemicals in plant disease management, Biological Control and Mushroom Cultivation.
