Department came into existence during 1956 at Government College of Agriculture, Jabalpur. Master degree program was started in the year 1962 at Jabalpur, in 2009 at Rewa and in 2011 at Tikamgarh. The program of Doctorate Degree was started in 1981 at the College of Agriculture, Jabalpur.
