The College of Agriculture, Tikamgarh was established in the year 2004-05. The students of the first batch were awarded a B.Sc. (Ag.) degree in the year 2007-08. The quality of education as per the curriculum is being provided to the students along with the practical exposure in the area of IPM, IWM, INM, biotechnology, soil testing, financial management, farm management, livestock production and management, post-harvest management, and entrepreneurship development under horticulture, intercropping, vegetable cultivation, and fruit crops. The Rural Agricultural Work Experience (RAWE) is an important component of the degree programme, providing a direct link between students and farmers to understand the practices of different farming situations, farming systems, cropping patterns, and agricultural technologies, as well as the economic status of farming communities in the Bundelkhand zone. The students learn by doing during the programme, and under the guidance of experienced faculty, they attempt to convince farmers to adopt new technologies for improved production. Students get a full semester of practical exposure in the elected module, which is well-designed by the ICAR.

During the year (2009-10), the college was further strengthened with the establishment of an instructional dairy unit, furnished laboratories with high-tech equipment, and other educational materials. Presently, three research schemes are in operation in the college, viz. the All India Coordinated Research Project on Oilseeds of Sesamum. This project envisages the development of various improvement techniques with respect to crop production and crop protection.

A project on Agrometerology funded by the Ministry of Earth Sciences. The prime objective of the project is to provide weather forecast-based agro-advises to the farming community of the Bundelkhand zone. The methodology involves the dissemination of agro-met data to the farmers in advance so that farmers can undertake various activities of agricultural operations based on weather forecasting.
